The Budapest Process convened its Thematic Working Group on Law Enforcement Cooperation in Sofia, co-chaired by Bulgaria and Iraq, bringing together 62 senior officials and experts from 16 countries. Over two days, participants explored ways to strengthen regional cooperation by embedding training within national institutions, advancing digitalisation and modernisation, and improving risk-analysis frameworks to better protect vulnerable groups. The meeting also outlined the next steps for the Community of Law Enforcement Practitioners (COLEP) and contributed to implementing the Call for Action 2025–2030, reaffirming a shared commitment to turn dialogue into practice through a new Roadmap on Law Enforcement Cooperation along the Silk Routes. #icmpd #migration #migrationtrends 🔗 Find information on: https://www.budapestprocess.org/ 🔗 Learn more about ICMPD's work at: https://www.icmpd.org/ 🌐Follow @icmpd on: - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/international-centre-for-migration-policy-development-/ - X: https://twitter.com/ICMPD - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ICMPD - Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/icmpd.org 📧 Subscribe to ICMPD's Newsletter: https://www.icmpd.org/newsletter 🎙️ Listen to the Migration Podcast by ICMPD: https://www.icmpd.org/podcast
