In this episode, remastered from True Sunlight Podcast reporting, Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell trace the rise of JP's father, televangelist Wayne Miller: the 1970s "Good Morning Jesus" broadcast empire, a 500-acre compound called Gloryland, and 1987 allegations that he made sexual advances on his bible college students. Wayne claimed a "credentials committee" cleared him of wrongdoing. Mandy and Liz found that committee's paperwork, and its first listed member is Wayne Miller himself. The episode also traces the suspicious fire that leveled Gloryland, Wayne's 2006 indecent exposure arrest, and his 2014 federal felony convictions for exploiting foreign bible college students. Two decades before Mica ever filed for divorce, Wayne's own wife Susan described a nearly identical playbook — a wife painted as unstable, a church turned against her. Understanding Wayne Miller is understanding JP Miller. This series discusses domestic abuse, coercive control, and suicide.
