Are today's graduates ready for an AI-powered workforce?

Paglalarawan

Jessica Biga-Wadstein, Canada’s country head at Pearson, and Coral Kennett, AWS Canada’s provincial government and education leader, discuss their collaborative research on AI readiness in Canada's workforce. They distinguish between AI skills gaps and readiness gaps, arguing that technical proficiency alone is insufficient—graduates need human capabilities like judgment, adaptability, and strategic intelligence to work effectively alongside AI. The conversation explores "pace friction" between rapidly evolving technology and slower-moving educational institutions, emphasizing the need for stronger partnerships between academia and employers to co-design practical, applied learning experiences. This episode is presented in partnership with Pearson. The Hub is Canada's fastest growing independent digital news outlet.Subscribe to The Hub's podcast feed to get all our best content:https://tinyurl.com/3a7zpd7e (Apple)https://tinyurl.com/y8akmfn7 (Spotify)Watch a video version on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheHubCanadaFollow The Hub on X: https://x.com/thehubcanada?lang=enCREDITS:Elia Gross - Producer and EditorSean Speer - Host Hosted on Acast.
