America’s Forgotten Filipino Village

Paglalarawan

This video explores the history of St. Malo, Louisiana, widely recognized as one of the earliest Filipino communities in the United States. In 1763, Filipino sailors known as the “Manila Men” settled in the marshlands of Louisiana, building a hidden stilt village long before the United States even existed. This is the story of how they arrived, how they lived, and why their community became a forgotten part of American and Filipino history.
