The Other Sherlock Holmes: A Rather Odd Mystery

“There is only one plot—things are not what they seem.”― Jim Thompson (novelist & screenwriter)***Preventing murders is a complicated business—even when you're actually able to get glimpses of the future.***From the paperback edition:A word to my fellow Sherlock Holmes aficionados:In many ways, The Other Sherlock Holmes is a very typical Holmesian mystery; there is a murder to solve and a dangerous conspiracy to expose and neutralize. Also, it will be the ‘real’ Holmes who will save the day—and the other Sherlock’s life as well in the process.(...)However, this story is not exactly the usual pastiche; in it, you will find elements of mythology, fantasy, and science-fiction, as well as surrealism, and even metafiction. The truth is that I created this story as a pleasurable roller-coaster for the mind – and I do hope that you, too, will enjoy the ride.C.
