The Bosporan Kingdom - 4th century BCClay is slave-born!From the moment he is branded at birth, he is raised by the laws of steel and blood. His upbringing is a daily ordeal of cruelty and suffering. His childhood defined by discrimination and hate. Yet his purpose in life, is all too clear….He will fight and die for Bospor! After sixteen long, hard years training in the ‘Agoge’, all warrior slaves must face their destiny: the brutal test to enter ‘Sovek’. Those who pass can die with honour, defending the northern border. But those who fail, face a grim alternative….THE DEATH GAMES!They are taken to the city, so the free citizens of Bospor can watch them die in the arena.Either way, whether they fight at Sovek or on the sand, life is short and death is certain. But Clay is different. The shackles of slavery cannot contain his strength, and the tight grip of tyranny will not break his spirit. He is invincible....he will carve his own destiny!……For fans of Martin, Gemmell, Weeks and Howard; Craig Paulett's epic debut novel is a gut-wrenching tale of violence and tragedy, that bludgeons its way through the realms of heroic literature, gouges the eyes out of grimdark fantasy and violates historical fiction with exaggerated accuracy.Read more
