Lying Flat:A Journey to Rediscovering Joy and AuthenticityIn a world obsessed with success, productivity, and material gain, four friends—Claire, Natsuko, Dexter, and Lee—find themselves on the edge of burnout, yearning for a different way of life. "Lying Flat" is an inspiring and heartwarming novel that chronicles their unconventional journey towards simplicity, connection, and true happiness. When a serendipitous opportunity to house-sit a charming cottage with a lush garden arises, the friends seize the chance to escape their hectic lives and embark on an experiment in sustainable living. Amidst planting trees, growing their own food, and exploring the vibrant possibilities of permaculture, they discover the profound joy in everyday moments and the value of living authentically.Their adventures lead them to question societal norms and their own deeply ingrained beliefs about success and fulfillment. From hilarious escapades with inflatable flamingos and impromptu games of pass the parcel with quirky neighbours, to poignant realisations about the impact of processed food and the insidious grip of technology, each chapter is a testament to the power of simplicity and the beauty of human connection. As the friends learn from each other—Dexter teaching the art of sustainable investing, Natsuko sharing her wisdom on nutrition and autophagy, Lee guiding them through the principles of sustainable homes and mindful living, and Claire igniting their creative sparks—they discover that life’s greatest joys often come from the most unexpected places."Lying Flat" is a celebration of slowing down, finding balance, and embracing a lifestyle that honors both the Earth and the human spirit. It’s a call to step off the treadmill of modern life and find peace and purpose in the simple, meaningful moments in the ordinary that truly matter.Join Claire, Natsuko, Dexter, and Lee as they navigate their way to a more fulfilling existence, reminding us all that happiness isn’t found in what we own, but in how we live and connect with tho
