Influence: A Transgender Tale

Teresa was a teenage girl growing up in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood and she seemed a typical young woman. But she had a secret, a secret that her mother and her aunt had always stressed she must guard carefully. She was a very pretty and carefree girl, but she had not been born a girl--not in her body, at any rate. She had no real memory of being anyone other than Teresa but as she grew she came to understand that this part of her must be hidden from the world. But some secrets cannot be hidden forever.A Transgender Tale set in the mean streets of Chicago, where violence can scar and threaten a sweet soul just trying to find her way in a world that can often be unkind and harsh, but where family and decency can still prevail.Follow teenaged Teresa as she finds her way through family struggles and challenges to find her own life and love.Read more
