How to Defend the Faith: A Presuppositional Approach

You know that Christianity is the truth, but can you prove it in conversation with a non-believer? How to Defend the Faith takes the apologetical theory of Cornelius Van Til, known as the presuppositional apologetic, and makes a practical guide for how to use it in real conversation with people. This book equips the Christian with confidence that he or she will be able to soundly refute every non-Christian worldview that comes along, and logically prove the truth of biblical Christianity. Full of example dialogue, it is intended for the Christian who desires to engage unbelievers with rational proof for Christianity, and would like to be more confident in knowing how to approach the debate and the words to say. With this book in your arsenal, you will never enter the intellectual fight unarmed again. "This is a handy little book, especially for those who have already had some basic exposure to Reformed apologetics and are convinced of its elemental premises. It gives the reader a good idea of how to biblically defend the faith and then also point our unbelieving conversation partners to the gospel. It’s not just an enjoyable read from front to back; it’ll also be a great reference to keep coming back to when engaged in giving a reason for the hope that is in us." --Rev. Wes Bredenhof, Pastor of the Free Reformed Church, Launceston, Tasmania "I believe this will be useful as a kind of short encyclopedia of suggested responses to various objections to the Gospel. I do recommend it!" Rev. Dr. Allen Tomlinson, Senior Pastor of First Church of Merrimack, New Hampshire (OPC)Read more
