Double-Edged Sword: Iran and the Illusion of Hatred – The Roots of an Anti-Israel Obsession

*** The book includes versions in three languages: English, Hebrew, and Persian.״It began in the shelter inside our home, sitting with my children as sirens wailed and explosions echoed - dozens of Iranian ballistic missiles flying toward us, some falling not far away, others intercepted in the sky above. Why do they hate us so much? That question led to an intense journey of investigation and to Double-Edged Sword.״This book follows the path of a single mortar shell that returned to the land where it was made - carrying within it the untold story of a region shaped by power, faith, and fear. Through this investigation, Yuval Hollander exposes the roots of a dangerous triangle - Israel, Iran, and Lebanon - and reveals how Iran’s hostility toward Israel evolved from a rhetorical tool in the 1960s into a strategic doctrine during the 1979 revolution: an ideology with a plan, a purpose, and a mission.Through cinematic storytelling and historical investigation, ״Double-Edged Sword״ offers a concise documentary journey that sheds new light on the roots of hatred and the forces that have fueled nearly five decades of endless wars - wars driven by power, money, and weapons, and marked by countless losses on all sides. While exposing the machinery behind this illusion of hatred, the book raises deeper questions: Are we truly responsible for the decisions we make? Do we ever grasp how a single choice today might echo decades into the future? And why has there never been a national commission of inquiry to ask the most fundamental question of all - how does hatred begin?Read more
