Different Yes, Not Less: Disabled Children Need Inclusion, Empathy, and Friendship

Disabled Children Need Inclusion, Empathy, and FriendshipEvery child deserves to feel, be seen, heard, and valued in a world full of wonder and uniqueness. Different Yes, Not Less discusses the types of disabilities and the needs of disabled individuals. Some are born with disabilities, others are disabled in accidents, and some become disabled through the thoughtless actions of others—Yes, they may move, speak, or act differently as a result; however, they are no less human beings than everyone else.Like all children, these children deserve to be seen, heard, and valued. They deserve to feel safe, to be treated with kindness and respect, and to know that they are not alone. They are not their past; they are not their pain. They are resilient survivors of the disability they live with every day, and they have the right to a future filled with hope, healing, and happiness.Remember that understanding and empathy are our most significant tools in fostering an inclusive environment. Let’s continue to learn, listen, and love because every child, regardless of their abilities or experiences, deserves to feel accepted, understood, and included.Read more
