Around the World in 20 Mistakes: A Step-By-Step Guide to Conquering Oceans, Weather, and Common Sense: An Incredibly Unhelpful Manual for Sailing Off in the Wrong Direction by Someone Who Did it

There are many sensible ways to travel around the world. This is not one of them. This is a book aboutsailing around the worldin the most inefficient, illogical, and thoroughly British way imaginable—by making one catastrophic mistake after another, and then calling it “a plan.”Around the World in 20 Mistakesis a painfully honest and extremely funny step-by-step account of what happens when one stubborn human tries to circumnavigate the planet in spite of bad weather, broken gear, seasickness, suspicious customs officers, and a boat that seemed determined to self-destruct at every opportunity. This is the story of a guy who set out to circumnavigate the globe armed with blind optimism, duct tape, and a boat that hated him. The result? Storms, disasters, cockroaches the size of dogs, and more bad decisions than you’d find at a stag weekend in Vegas.Inside, you’ll find:Handy tipsfor surviving storms, bureaucracy, and cockroaches the size of small cars.Inspiring tales of survival, mostly involving rum and swearing.A step-by-step demonstrationof why common sense should never be invited aboard.Real-life proofthat duct tape, rum, and blind optimism are the three pillars of successful ocean voyaging.A gripping finaleinvolving Cape Horn, endless wet socks, and the most expensive beer ever purchased.Proof that you can sail around the world… by accident. It’s chaotic, it’s hilarious, and against all logic, it actually happened. So if you enjoy stories of human stubbornness triumphing over reason (and occasionally over the ocean), then this is your book.Whether you’re a sailor, a dreamer, or just someone who enjoys reading about other people’s questionable decisions, this book will make you laugh, wince, and possibly feel a bit better about your own life choices.Sail. Drink. Curse. Repeat.Read more
