Almost? Persuaded!: Why 3 Great Questions Resist Certainty

Three Great Questions face everyone. Does God exist? Where did we come from? Do we have free-will? These questions resist certainty. Believers and unbelievers continually debate these questions. Why is it that two honest and intelligent people can examine the same evidence and come to radically different conclusions?Ideas drive movements which have consequences. In the last century certain modern ideas helped produce two World Wars, the Holocaust, the rise of Communism and the Sexual Revolution. A look at history shows that ideas can lead to catastrophic results. Betrayed trust and continual suffering drive people to the edge of despair while the naturalistic worldview argues against any supernatural hope. Yet healing can be found. People can find their way back home. This book offers some signposts along the way.InAlmost Persuaded, author Ron Coody offers readers an insightful, engaging, and informative tour through some of the most significant and relevant questions of human existence. Coody’s wisdom shines through as he deftly pierces the façade of secularism, revealing a solid foundation of hope for our lives, based on eternal truths.Dr. Eric Hedin, Physicist and author of Canceled ScienceIn this book Dr. Coody invites us upfront to grapple with three of the “hard” questions we have as humans, is there something more than the material world, where did we come from, and is my life my own. Each section weaves us through a narrative that is enriched by historical and literary references that feel both familiar and new. The culmination of these questions is ultimately a challenge to the reader to decide for themselves whether this Christian apologetic has indeed persuaded them.Dr. Joel Stake, Biologist and Assistant Director of honors at La Tech UniversityRead more
