The Fault in Our Education, Political Islam, and Gen Alpha Slang - Anies Baswedan

الوصف

Anies Baswedan sits down with Andovi and Abigail to talk about a range of topics from the importance of books, how he raised his kids, his tweet on Tom Lembong’s recent case, to his 2004 paper on Political Islam. He also answers some burning questions from the WIUI community and react to memes of himself. Anies Baswedan is famously known as the former Jakarta Governor (2017-2022) and a Presidential Candidate in the 2024 election. Before, he was a Rector of Paramadina University and the Minister of Education and Culture (2014-2016). NOTE: A lot of Wuiboos wanted to ask about Anies’ polarizing gubernatorial election against Ahok in 2017, including his controversial winning speech that invoked the term “pribumi”. We ended up not asking him because we’ve realize that it has been frequently asked by other public figure and media, most prominently at Kick Andy.
