RUTO’S NEW GEN Z NIGHTMARE: “MR SPEAKER SIR” RETURNS FROM HIDING AS BABU OWINO ENTERS THE WAR

الوصف

Kenya’s most iconic Gen Z protest figure is back. After one year and nine months in hiding, the man famously known as “Mr Speaker Sir” has resurfaced — alive, defiant, and politically explosive. Chama, the young protester who stormed Parliament during the 2024 anti-Finance Bill protests, has now chosen Embakasi East MP Babu Owino as his lawyer and legal shield. His return comes at the most dangerous political moment possible: barely one month before Finance Bill 2026 and exactly one month before the anniversary of the Gen Z uprising that shook President William Ruto’s government. This is not just a comeback. It is the reopening of a political wound Kenya never truly healed. From the deaths of Rex Masai and Denzel to the growing online calls to reject new taxes, this story explains why the reappearance of “Mr Speaker Sir” could trigger a fresh political storm across Kenya. Is this the return of a symbol? A warning shot to the state? Or the beginning of another Gen Z political earthquake? Kenya is watching. --- Timestamps 00:00 - Mr Speaker Sir returns from hiding 00:39 - Why Kenyans thought he was dead 01:25 - The Parliament invasion that shocked Kenya 02:15 - Why Babu Owino’s involvement changes everything 03:07 - The ghosts of the June 2024 protests 04:02 - Finance Bill 2026 panic begins 04:52 - Why arresting him could explode politically 05:35 - “Parliament ama State House?” Kenya reacts 06:02 - The political warning signs ahead MAISHA TV – Kenya’s News Voice of Truth, Insight & Impact 🏆 KUZA Award–Winning news Broadcaster | Top 5 Most-Watched TV Channel in Kenya (2024–2025) – Media Council of Kenya We bring you breaking news, fearless investigative journalism, and powerful human stories that shape conversations in Kenya, Africa, and across the globe.
