Stopping operations this year, the federal government was successfully cut down, hurting the most vulnerable. Elon Musk is a Dune fan allegedly, and it stands to reason that Frank Herbert himself might agree with some of his work in the government. Herbert uses his Dune books to push his political messages, and his own opposition to the Federal government's welfare programs and education is something evident in Dune. The Fremen are depicted as his ideal society clearly inspired by both Islamic cultures but also the Native Americans he knew in his youth. They are self reliant, use technology with intention, and live in symbiosis with their environment.
