For You Are My God | John Foley | Catholic Choir w/ Lyrics | Good Shepherd Sunday

الوصف

"For You Are My God" by Jesuit composer John Foley, S.J. is a beloved Catholic setting of Psalm 16, with its tender refrain — "For you are my God; you alone are my joy. Defend me, O Lord" — drawing us into a profound prayer of total trust in God as our shelter, our portion, our cup, and our delight. This Sunday, the Fourth Sunday of Easter (Good Shepherd Sunday), the Church pairs this spirit of trust and surrender beautifully with the Gospel of John 10:1–10, in which Jesus declares Himself the Gate of the sheepfold and the Good Shepherd whose voice His sheep recognize and follow into the fullness of life, and with Psalm 23 — "The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want." Together, song and Scripture invite us to say from the depths of our hearts: You are my God, my shepherd, my gate, my joy — and in You I lack nothing. Recorded live by the Sunday 7pm Choir at SFDS Parish, Ajax ON Canada. Those who choose alien gods have chosen an alien band. 2. You are my portion and cup; It is You that I claim for my prize. Your heritage is my delight, the lot you have given to me. 3. Glad are my heart and my soul Securely my body will rest For you will not leave me for dead Nor lead your beloved astray 4. You show me the path for my life In your presence the fullness of joy To be at your right hand forever For me would be happiness always #ForYouAreMyGod #JohnFoley #CatholicChoir #Sunday7pmChoir #GoodShepherdSunday #FourthSundayOfEaster #Psalm16 #CatholicHymn #LiturgicalMusic #WorshipMusic Thanks for watching the video For You Are My God | John Foley | Catholic Choir w/ Lyrics | Good Shepherd Sunday
