When his mother begins to introduce the children to their neighbor, Sarah, he is determined to keep the strange woman away.As Jonas becomes steadily more overwhelmed by everything he needs to get done, his mother insists that he allow Sarah into his home, to help with the duties of child care. He is hesitant, but allows himself to be persuaded. As the lives of the Miller family and Sarah Yoder become intertwined, Jonas realizes there is more to Sarah than the community sees.
