After her father, the manager of one of Abel's banks disappears, having embezzled a ton of money, Ginerva is forced to face the ruthless side of Abel. Abel Masterson has always acquired whatever he wanted without much ceremony to it. So, when he indicated his interest in Ginerva Gallo, he was shocked at her blunt refusal.
