The Sands of Redemption

Carsten is a young German noble in the 12th Century who has become known as The Butcher for his deadly fighting skills in the Third Crusade. But to really know Carsten, we must go back to his childhood to discover the tragic events that started him along his grim path. As he grows into a young man his life is gripped by a dark fate from which escape seems impossible. At every turn he is plagued by the echoes of his past as he faces a hopeless future. In an effort to break free of the sorrow and brutality brought about by a feud in which he is the central figure, Carsten joins the army of Frederick Barbarossa, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, traveling across Europe and into Asia to reclaim Jerusalem from the Saracens. But, does the Holy Land hold the redemption that Carsten seeks? A sweeping saga in the tradition of “Carried on the Wind,” The Sands of Redemption merges the themes of love and hate to take the reader on a powerfully emotional ride into the Middle Ages.Read more
