The Raven's Call

The Raven’s CallWhen the raven cries, the forgotten past stirs.A raven's cry cuts through the smoke as flames consume the Lateri yurts and from the haze of her broken mind, Rayl moves. She remembers who she is yet little else but her body remembers things her mind cannot. In the chaos, she finds Kiri, the condescending queen of the Lateri and together they flee into the frozen dark. Their only hope lies in reaching the Askuzai nation… but the warriors pursuing them send a chill to Rayl's bones more than the wind scouring the steppe.Every step closer draws them deeper into danger. Whispers follow them. The raven circles overhead. The khan of the Askuzai watches Rayl with storm-grey eyes that see too much and still, she cannot remember. Why do the Askuzai fear her? Why does the raven follow her?As betrayal coils through the tribe like smoke in a winter sky, the raven becomes both omen and guide. War brews without and within. And in the silence between battles, Rayl’s past begins to awaken. When the truth returns will it free her? Or destroy everything she’s come to protect?Read more
