The Irish Wise Guys: The Stories of the most notorious Irish- American Gangsters

This book tells the story of America's most notorious Irish- American gangsters- the men who rose poverty, brutally created criminal empires and made millions before more often than not dying violently. In different circumstances, these men could have been captains of industry, politicians, or union leaders; instead they chose a path of crime that turned them into some of the most wanted men in America. No story of Irish-American gangsters would be complete without a look at such gangs as the White Hand Gang, The Gophers, the Northside Gang, the Winter hill Gang and the Westies which provided the stepping stones for these dark figures to operate their regimes of mayhem and murder through the murky criminal underworld. Gangsters like Whitey Bulger, Vincent ‘Mad Dog’ Coll, George ‘Machine Gun’ Kelly and Owney ‘the Killer’ Madden. The Irish Wise Guys is a no-holds-barred account by John Joe McGinley focusing on the most notorious Irish American Gangsters, crime bosses for whom death and destruction was a daily currency in their lives.Read more
