The Crusades were a series of religious wars fought between the 11th and 13th centuries. These wars were fought by Christians and Muslims for control of the Holy Land, which is the region that includes modern-day Israel, Palestine, and parts of Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. The Crusades were also fought for economic, political, and social reasons, but religion was the main driving force behind them.
