The Family Church: Faith | Family | Fellowship

An Entertaining, Inspiring, and Transformational Guide for Pastors, Leaders, and Lay PersonsAfter accepting a calling as a church minister at the age of twelve, and climbing the ladder of success to become a well-respected academic scholar and spiritual leader, a recent conversation and“aha moment”planted the seed for an entertaining, inspiring, and transformational guide for pastors, church leaders, and lay persons. It was a casual remark from a mentor and a pastor who had shepherded a fledgling church into a beacon of his community. As the two discussed their ministries, sharing the triumphs and tribulations of life in the pulpit, his mentor’s words landed with a surprising weight: “Oh. You are the pastor of afamily church.A church withunique strengths and the transformative powerof intimacy. A church where belonging is not just a word but an actual experience.”In this conversational and inspiring book, Dr. Richardson has captured the unabridged essence of his lessons-learned, and the teachable experiences associated with leading a“Family Church.”Within the 120-pages, the reader obtains an unforgettable view into thehistoricalandinstinctivenature of“The Family Church” -- one filled to the rim with the kind offaith, familyandfellowship, which ignores size and numbers, and embraces actionable love, kindred kindness and awe-inspiring spiritual strength. The book’s Foreword is passionately and profoundly provided byBishop Frederick A. Wright, Sr.,the 142nd Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church.Read more
