TERROR: Political Weapon, Social Infection, Dehumaniser

The terror perpetrated by hate groups with a twisted sense of righteousness centered on a cause to mitigate the miseries of an oppressed people or to perform a religious program (jihad), haunts the world today. In the contemporary world where people, groups and organizations arrogate to themselves the right to make not only the establishment they are against the target of their attacks, but deem it acceptable to attack civilians in an indiscrimate manner if its serves their purpose, terrorism is recognized as the biggest threat to global security. But then, what motivates these bloodthirsty fanatics; what is their support base; and how can the civilized world draw its resources to neutralize them? Janvier Tchouteu provides the answers here—If not all, then most of them. It is a read that challenges established concepts, brings up new ones and provides unique insights that are helpful not only for those trying to understand the nature of terrorism, but that are equally valuable tools for those confronting the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, by individuals and groups in the pursuit of their political goals.Read more
