Shores of Silver Seas: Collected Short Stories 2000 - 2006

Humankind knows countless destinations, whether of mountain, river, meadow or lake. Each domain offers a unique experience, and, so, each attracts visitors with common yet specific interests. Of all destinations, sandy beaches may provide the archetypal candidate for recreational pursuits, and merest mention of the locale invites visions of loungers, cocktails and palm fronds stirring before a moist ocean breeze. Travel there now to wade through a surging surf toward a sanctuary beach, but be warned and beware... both treasure and tragedy beckon from shores of silver seas.Weather violent tides of contemporary angst with “The Ant”, “At the Very Far Away Ends of It All”, “The Disease That Rots the World”, “An Abiding Silence”, “This Little Patch of Grass That is Mine”, “Down in the Dark Where the Devil Dwells”, “The Lawn Boy”, and “Whispers”. Tread distant landings in the disturbing future when you wash onto the shores of “The Prometheus Project”, “Machines of War”, “F***ing the Devil”, “The Retirement”, “Numbers”, “Final Remarks”, “Nine Lives”, “The Corporal Would Survive”, “A Needle Awaits”, and “Good-Bye Thaddeus”. Then, as you stroll along the lapping edge, delve into the surreal and bizarre with “The Immaculate”, “The Mountains Keep Their Dead”, “The Road to Texas”, “To Shovel Sandy Beaches”, “Punching God”, and “It Happened in the Groves”.Read more
