Lost in ‘96

Connor Coineagan is 24, drifting through life with a dead-end bookstore job, a stalled novel, and a circle of friends as lost as he is. Cynical, witty, and haunted by the ghosts of relationships past, Connor is determined to avoid adulthood at all costs—even as the world around him demands he grow up.Between late-night bar debates, the search for meaning in music, and the ache of unrequited love, Connor navigates a decade of change, heartbreak, and hope. When his closest friendships are tested and the lines between ambition and apathy blur, Connor must decide what it means to truly live—and what he’s willing to risk for a shot at something real.A coming-of-age story for anyone who’s ever felt stuck between eras,Lost in ‘96is a sharp, nostalgic, and deeply human portrait of youth, longing, and the last great decade of rock. This is the novel of Generation X, a deep look into the angst of a generation forgotten and ignored. It’s also a novel for anyone who is or has ever been disillusioned by the world around them.Read more
