Independent Filmmaking 101: A 60 Minute Crash Course On The Basics Of No To Low Budget Filmmaking

This manual provides a crash course on the techniques and tricks film industry professionals use to make movies, as well as everything you will need to do from start to finish to make your own feature film. It covers the basics of screenwriting, location scouting, casting, directing actors, lighting, cinematography, audio recording, professional conduct, editing, music scoring and distribution. It's meant to be read in about 60 minutes.Although film school, internships and on the job training are preferable to learn filmmaking, let’s be honest, they cost time and money many of us don’t have, or want to spend. More importantly, the vast majority of people that go into filmmaking often leave the profession within a few years because there are only a handful of paid opportunities. Many leave for another profession where work and pay are consistent and guaranteed.Does that mean we should just give up and not make movies? No, not at all. If, like myself, you are an artist and make films because it is what you love to do, and where you feel most alive, you should go out there and let your voice be heard regardless if other people tell you differently.Whether you’re in high school, college, a working professional looking to make better home videos or even an independent filmmaker looking to have a training manual for inexperienced crew, this book has been designed as a quick, easy to use guide covering the basics of professional filmmaking. It can help you realize your vision under a no to low budget production business model, and get your film out there with a professional look and feel as good as any Hollywood movie.Read more
