From Peacock Lane: The Poetry and Prose of Emily Evans Volume 1

An ideal gift for a gentle reader of any age, this first volume of the series,The Essence of Emily Evansincludes a symphony of intensely descriptive pieces. The settings range from the author's childhood years on an Ohioan farm through her time in Buffalo, Brooklyn, Greenwich Village, Cocoa Beach, and more. Filled with lyric poems of nature, and thrilling, delightful, and sometimes wrenching images of her personal experiences, it was awarded five stars by Literary Titan, who declared it "a very promising start to a series." Volumes II and III will be released in 2024.Excerpts from Volume I:"Memorized ariasfrom Carmensang in the showerunder a skylightwith broken glassas snowflakesmelted around me"and"A beleaguered blossombrave as any lonelysoldieron a ravaged moor"Emily Evans (1925-2017) was part of poetry circles in Greenwich Village, and married her second husband, a published poet, when she was in her fifties.
