Forever Home

The product of a schizophrenic mother and absentee father, Lorraine Wilkes shares her captivating survival story. Her struggle progresses from eating out of trash cans at the age of five, becoming the primary caregiver of her four younger sisters, to being sheltered by her zero-tolerance aunt. To cope, she learned how to become invisible. In her hiding places, horror stories are overheard, unspoken acts of violence are performed, and her only refuge is to hide deep within the recesses of her mind. Inherently, she always knew her day to physically escape would come. This book will help through the process of peeling away trauma and memories of abuse.Read more
