Bird Without Wings

“Sometimes you have to leave home in order to find—or evenearn—your way back. Odysseus discovered that. So did Dorothy Gale. Sometimes you get lost. And sometimes you get lost on purpose.”In the summer of 1971, a bored and callow sixteen-year-old boy embarks on a study tour that he hopes will expose him to ”The Comparative Cultures of Europe.” But what he learns instead are the truths you encounter when you’re far from home. From the glittering streets of Madrid and Paris to the ancient sites of Rome and Athens,Bird Without Wingsexplores the excitement and uncertainty of youth through the eyes of a boy who’s on the verge of becoming a man. He begins to learn who he is—and who he might someday become.Filled with nostalgia and emotional depth,Bird Without Wingsis a celebration of youth, transformation, and the thrill of seeing the world with fresh eyes.Read more
