Between Her Bones

Hattie and Sam Kane are identical twins who share everything: clothes, classes, friends – even their own language. They share their words too, and they communicate in the same way they have since Hattie stopped speaking at six years old.Their parents decide to send them to a boarding school with the hope that putting them in separate classes will help them embrace their individuality. And it works – for Sam. Pretty, loud, confident Sam fits in right away. She joins a sport, gets a boyfriend, and even manages to become popular. All while Hattie watches from the sidelines. Then one morning Sam’s body is pulled from the school’s lake and mistakenly identified as Hattie’s. Now shy, quiet Hattie Kane finally has the chance to become someone different – to become pretty, smart, and popular. To become Sam. And she takes it.Sam’s death is ruled a suicide, but Hattie knows better. She knows Sam. And when she finds out what really happened to Sam that night, she has to make a choice: lie and keep her new life as Sam, or tell the truth and go back to being Hattie.Read more
